ABOUT OUR SCHOLARSHIP
HISTORY:
The Donna Kaye Smith Scholarship Fund was established through the generous gifts of family and friends of Donna Kaye Smith. Scott and Andrea Ralls, Donna’s son and daughter-in-law, wanted to find a way to memorialize the spirit and effort that Donna Kaye Smith exhibited every day just to live, and her love and compassion for those less fortunate. To that end they have, along with family and friends, created The Donna Kaye Smith Scholarship Fund.
This Scholarship Fund will be used to assist those, who otherwise might not have the opportunity, to attend college. Recipients of the scholarship shall be graduates of Benton High School in Benton, IL and the Project Morry Program, in White Plains, NY who show evidence of financial need.
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES:

Recipients will provide an application, and a 500-word essay on who has impacted their life in a positive way.

The Donna Kaye Smith Scholarship Committee shall select scholarship recipients.

Recipients of the scholarship may reapply and be granted scholarships for four consecutive years given they meet the guidelines for continued scholarship which are; Maintaining a 2.0 cumulative GPA, Maintaining full time student status, and no scholastic or legal disciplinary action against them.

The awards each year shall be payable over a period of 2 semesters. The actual amount and number of awards may very based on the growth in the scholarship fund and the available interest earnings.
